Welcome to Rent Robe. Our Terms & Conditions govern your use of our rental service and outline the responsibilities of both the Renter (you) and Rent Robe (us). By completing a booking with Rent Robe, you agree to these terms.

1. Rental Agreement

By making a booking with Rent Robe, you enter into a rental agreement. All garments remain the property of Rent Robe. You are responsible for the care, use, and safe return of each item during the rental period. This agreement applies from the moment the item is received until it is returned and checked in by our team.

2. Rental Charges

All prices are displayed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). The rental fee, any shipping charges, and deposit (if applicable) must be paid at checkout. No booking is considered confirmed until full payment is processed. Prices may be subject to change, but confirmed bookings will not be affected.

3. Delivery & Timing

Garments are dispatched on business days unless otherwise agreed. Weekend rentals are sent in advance to ensure arrival prior to your event. While we always aim for timely delivery, please note that once parcels are with NZ Post, delivery timeframes are outside of our control and we cannot guarantee arrival by a specific date. 

Please note that while we do everything we can to ensure timely delivery, we are ultimately reliant on the postal system. All orders are sent via overnight courier; however, delays can occur, as NZ Post operates as a third-party service.

To minimise risk, we allow a 5-day buffer either side of each rental to ensure a secure turnaround. Despite this, there is still a small possibility of delays, particularly in cases of courier disruption or late returns from previous customers.

In the event that your garment does not arrive in time, a full store credit for the value of the dress (excluding shipping costs) will be issued. This credit can be used towards any future rental.

4. Item Condition & Care

Each garment is inspected and cleaned between rentals. Please handle items with care and avoid makeup, food, or liquids that could cause stains or damage. Notify us immediately if you receive an item with any damage that was not disclosed.

5. Responsibility for Damage or Loss

You are liable for any loss, theft, or damage to the garment while in your possession. Charges for repair or replacement will be based on retail value, necessary repairs, and lost rental income. You authorize Rent Robe to charge these costs to your account if required.

6. Booking Modifications & Cancellations

Bookings may be modified or cancelled up to 7 days prior to your rental date by contacting us at rentrobenz@gmail.co. Cancellations made within 7 days of the rental date are not eligible for a refund. If you need to make any changes to your booking, please contact us as soon as possible.

7. Returns & Late Fees

Garments must be returned using the prepaid bag provided and scanned at a NZ Post shop counter by 4 p.m. the next working day following the rental. Drop-box returns or late returns will incur a fee of $20 per day until the item is received.

8. Shipping & Delivery Risk

While we use reliable overnight courier services, we cannot guarantee delivery by a specific time. Once the item enters the postal network, you assume responsibility. If the delay is due to our error, we can offer store credit.

9. Postal Try-On Terms & Conditions

Postal Try-Ons are offered at 70% off the standard rental price and are strictly for fit and style assessment only. No refunds or compensation will be provided if a garment is unsuitable or does not fit. Postal Try-Ons do not reserve or hold an item for any event date, and by booking, you acknowledge that the garment may be rented by another customer for your intended date.

Any damage incurred while the garment is in your possession for a try-on will be charged to you, including cleaning, repair, or replacement costs. Rentals must be returned the following working day after the try-on. Late returns not scanned at a NZ Post counter by 4:00 p.m. the following working day will incur a late fee of $20 per day until received. Rent Robe reserves the right to offer or withdraw Postal Try-Ons at any time.

Please note that garment condition may vary between your Postal Try-On and your event rental due to normal wear from subsequent bookings.

10. Liability Limitations

Rent Robe is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including those arising from courier delays or inaccurate information provided by you. Our liability is limited to the rental fee paid.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your booking or refuse service for any breach of these Terms & Conditions. Any obligations or fees incurred prior to termination, including damages or late fees, remain enforceable.

12. Taxation

All prices include GST at the standard New Zealand rate (15%). A tax invoice is available on request.

13. International & Extended Use

Garments taken overseas must be kept in personal hand luggage. Loss, damage, or failure to return garments from international locations will incur full replacement costs and any lost rental income.

14. Garment Cleaning

Renters are not permitted to wash, dry, or alter rental garments, as many items require specialized cleaning methods. Any modifications, including temporary adjustments, must be discussed and approved by Rent Robe.

Upon return, each garment is carefully inspected to determine if additional cleaning is required. Light stains are generally removed as part of our standard cleaning process, which is included in the rental cost. This typically covers one round of gentle cleaning methods such as scrubbing, soaking, or spot treatment.

Stains or damage that require extra cleaning beyond the standard process, or cannot be fully removed, may incur additional fees. Renters remain responsible for these costs, even if specialist cleaning does not fully restore the garment, in addition to any permanent damage or replacement fees.

We reserve the right to choose the appropriate dry cleaner or repair service, and specialist fabrics, such as silk, or difficult stains may result in higher cleaning or replacement fees.

15. General Provisions

These Terms & Conditions are governed by New Zealand law. Any disputes will be addressed in New Zealand courts. Rent Robe reserves the right to update these terms, with updates published on our website. Continued use of our service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
